TSC dismisses another five Knut branch officials who took part in disrupting CBC trainings

The teachers employer has escalated the feud between it and the Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) after dismissing five Knut branch officials who took part in disrupting CBC training in April last year.

The five Knut branch officials who their names were struck from  the register are:

  1. Patrick Chungani (Kakamega)
  2. Joseph Moguche Makabi (Kisii)
  3. Archideous Liyayi (Kakamega)
  4. Daniel Nginga (Machakos)

In December last year the Labour and Relations court dismissed a petition filed by fourteen Knut officials who challenged TSC challenged the legality of the TSC disciplinary chambers over them.

While issueing the judgement Justice Radido directed the disciplinary process to begin against the fourteen who were accused of sabotaging the CBC trainings over the April holiday.

The dismissal comes at a time when the Union and the teachers employer have a strained relationship.

The five Knut have ninety days to appeal the judgement.
