The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) officials have acknowledged that there are errors in the just released list of promoted teachers.
TSC County and Regional Directors say such errors and misprints are normal in such exercises and those who missed their names in the list should not be too worried.
The Commission published a list of 724 pages on its website yesterday containing details of 36,505 who were successfully promoted following interviews done in December and January.
However many teachers have questioned the interview results released by the Commission with majority remaining skeptical.
Now teachers are advised to await the TSC promotion letters which will ultimately clear the errors witnessed in the list.
Successful teachers will get SMS from the TSC County and Sub -County offices inviting them to pick their promotion letters.
Both Knut and Kuppet want TSC for avoidance of doubt and transparency to publish the names of the promoted teachers with their counties and sub-counties.
The 36,505 successful teachers will be issued with promotional letters and will be required to submit five Chapter six documents.
Below are the five documents that are mandatory inline with Chapter six of the Kenyan Constitution on ‘Leadership and Integrity’.
- Valid Certificate of Good Conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) cost 1,050/-
- Clearance Certificate from the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) cost Free
- Tax Compliance Certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) cost Free
- Clearance from Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) cost Free
- A Clearance Certificate from an approved Credit Reference Bureau (CRB) cost 2,200/-
The unsuccessful teachers will be issued with regret letters which will serve as evidence of their interview attendance.
TSC conducted interview in December and January after advertising the vacancies in September. At least one hundred and fifty thousand teachers were shortlisted.
The interviews for primary school teachers were done from 4th to 15th December 2023.
Secondary school teachers and Teacher Training College (TTC) tutors had their interviews running from 3rd to 16th January 2024.
The just concluded list is a sham
N useless. How can Tsc 70s newly employmed teacher be promoted that fast yet others have stagnated for two decades
My name is missing from the list of promoted teachers.
Kindly check my misplint tsc number before you print letters I’m sure you misplinted .
Did teachers with disability get promotion?
It’s all not in order. I am missing on the list. How authentic is the list?
Am a demoralised and frustrated Deputy Principal having attended these interviews four times and not being promoted to D2. My job group N attained in 2014 has gone to waste…..what exactly is required so that I can know where I went wrong.
What about those who were interviewed for CSO 2
please assist trs guide them.
It’s clear that we are not comfortable with what has happened in teacher’s promotion interviews. Seemingly it’s obvious, corruption has taken it’s course. They didnot follow the right procedure. As outlined as performance appraisal etc.
Do consider the aged teachers for their services to the commission
It hurts, some of us have acted for 15 years as deputies yet our names are numbers are missing. There is eveything wrong with tsc.
Corruption and tribalism took the centre stage. Let justice prevail.

Go go Nan, croaking frogs do, but cows drink
Too sad working in one point grade for 13yrs and remained with one year to retire what wrong did old teachers do to TSC? Promotions were supplied to young teachers. Let the CEO rethink over it.
Have stagnated in C2 since 2015, the CBA have never benefited me.please mdm secretary consider me to C3
Consider those who are soon leaving. These people you are promoting are their products.some don’t know what promotion is since they have never been promoted and have served for more than 30 years in the same grade . This bitter teacher is needed to narture a grade one child to become a happy and free from stress in feature. It needs God’s devine intervention.
It’s quite in order for such an exercise to be transparent and fair to all Kenyans without discrimination. My humble opinion.
