DISBURSEMENT OF TERM 3 2026 FPE FUNDS TO PUBLIC PRIMARY SCHOOLS’ ACCOUNTS 1 AND 2

The Government has released KSh 133.70 per learner for Account 1 which has been deposited into respective schools’ accounts. Data used to compute this disbursement was extracted from NEMIS on 25th November 2024 and later subjected to verification by respective Heads of Institutions and SCDEs in term 3 2025.

The utilization of the funds will be strictly as follows unless otherwise authorized by the relevant authority.

County Directors of Education should ensure that this information is availed to all public primary schools’ head teachers in their jurisdiction immediately to enable them utilize the funds as outlined above.

Upon receipt of the funds, the schools should immediately acknowledge receipt. SCDEs should also regularly monitor utilization of these funds to ensure strict adherence to the Ministry’s guidelines

In case of overfunding, schools should immediately notify the Principal Secretary through their SCDEs for initiation of recovery of the extra funds. Any underfunded schools should also inform their SCDE who will in turn submit a list of all underfunded schools to the office of the Principal Secretary.

All Head teachers shall ensure that information on receipt of capitation grant is displayed on the school notice boards and the budget tabled and discussed in Board of Management (BOM) meetings before any expenditure.
