The Kenya National Examinations Council (Knec) has asked teachers who applied for training as KCPE and KCSE examiners to confirm their selection and complete it by making payment.
The payment of ksh 10,500 according to Knec should be made through Mpesa paybill 819313 with Account name as TRAINING by 11th September.
Knec also directs the selected applicants to use their registered mobile phone numbers when making the payments.
Applicants should log into the CP2 online portal and login to their accounts using their usernames and passwords to check whether they have been selected.
Those without passwords should click on reset password button and enter their mobile number in the format 2547******** and submit to get their usernames and passwords.
Those selected will also get a SMS informing them to make payment. The SMS will be sent to the mobile number provided during application.
“You have been shortlisted to train as an examiner in 451/2. Please pay training fee of KES 10,500 through Mpesa paybill number 819313, Account name is TRAINING by 11th September, 2022. Use your registered mobile number to make the payment for ease of name matching,” read a SMS of Esther Mayiani who applied for training Computer studies paper 2.
Those who will make payment will also be informed of the training venues.
Last month Knec invited teachers to apply for the training through an online portal by 31st August.
Knec invited both primary and high school teachers with the required qualifications to apply for the training.
Primary school teachers were invited for training for marking of KCPE English Composition and Kiswahili Insha papers.

Knec listed the following requirements as criteria for training as an examnier.
CRITERIA FOR TRAINING AS AN EXAMINER
General criteria for all the trainee examiners
Must be a practicing teacher in the relevant subject areas at the level of examination.
Must be registered and/or employed by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
Have a minimum qualification of P1 for KCPE examination with a minimum of a C (plain) at KCSE level in the subject they are applying to train.
Must have a Diploma in Education and above for KCSE marking.
Have a minimum teaching experience of three (3) years.
Must NOT be on interdiction or any other form of disciplinary action from the TSC.
Must be recommended by his/her head of institution and
Must be 50 years of age and below.
Through the portal I can view shortlisted being asked to pay the training fees but I have not received a message from knec. Should I pay or wait for the message first?
