Twelve students from Friends School Kamusinga and six from Kimilili Boys High School in Bungoma county who had tested positive for Covid-19 and were taken into isolation have tested negative.
They have been allowed to return to school.
The students had been in isolation for 14 days in Webuye.
Bungoma Health CEC Antony Walela on Wednesday said, ” They have finally tested negative and allowed back to school and in healthy condition.”
The students were asymptomatic.
Walela said the county had stopped testing asymptomatic patients after running short of supplies which they depend on the national government for.
The CEC cautioned residents against laxity in following safety protocols, saying they were risking their lives .
“Let people know that the wave of the pandemic is very strong in our region and going back to the old behaviour is risky,” he said .
Walela said the county government was working round the clock with other law enforcers to ensure Covid-19 protocols are observed.
