On behalf of TSC I wish all the teachers a happy Jamhuri Day 2020.
On this occasion, we celebrate the establishment of Kenya as a republic.
As we mark this day, let us also take time to reflect on the contributions of our freedom champions to Kenya’s self-rule.
Coming amidst the Covid 19 pandemic, the 57th Jamhuri Day is unique because we are celebrating it under MOH Covid protocols.
Indeed, since schools partially reopened, teachers having been taking the lead in wearing face masks, washing hands and keeping social distance in their communities. I thank you for this.
I urge you not to relent in observing Covid 19 safety measures because it will take our sustained efforts in adhering to these rules to crash the Coronavirus.
While our freedom champions gave Kenya its self-rule, you and I must ensure that ourselves, our families and school communities survive the pandemic and to live to enjoy our statehood.
