CS Magoha has officially released the 2021 KCPE results today at Mitihani house in Nairobi.

Top KCPE 2021 candidate is Magata Bruce Mackenzie from Gilgil followed by Momanyi Ashley Kerubo 427 marks.

However this is a drop compared to position one last year Mumo Faith who scored 433 marks.

“A total of 315,275 candidates scored between 300-399, while 578,197 scored between 200 to 299 marks,” Magoha said. 

Below is a list of top 10 KCPE 2021 candidates.

1. Magata Bruce Makenzi –  Gilgil Hills Academy – 428 marks

2. Momanyi Ashley Kerubo – Makini School – 427 marks

3. Kwoma Charity Buyanzi -Holy Family Misikhu Girls Primary School- 426 marks

4. Mbugua Sharon Wairimu – Emmanuel Springs – 426 marks

5.Muteti Shantel Ndinda – Kitengela International School – 426 marks

6. Stanley Otieno Omondi – Rofin Field Junior School – 426 marks

7. Wekesa Naomi – Whitestar Academy – 426 marks

8. Kimani Ethan Karuga – Stepping Stones Preparatory – 426 marks

9. Njeru Joel Junior – Nyagwa Primary – 425 marks

10. Muriuki Victor – PCEA Mwimbi Boarding Primary school-  425 marks

Magoha noted this years results are better than those of last year with better performance recorded in English and Kiswahili subjects.

Last years canidates dropped in Science, Mathematics and Social studies subjects.

Candidates can know their KCPE results by sending an SMS with their index number to 20076. They will be charged sh. 25 for sending this SMS.

CS Magoha said all students who sat the KCPE exams will transition to secondary school.

He said everything is in place for selection exercise to start immediately.

He praised the Elimu Bora Scholarship for sponsoring children from poor families.

He said the initiative has 18,000 children whose scholarship started in 2018. Magoha said this year scholarship will start with 9,000 beneficiaries.

Magoha while releasing the results said they are almost complete in constructing the required 10,000 Competency Based Curriculum (CBC) classes.

Magoha says the construction of 5,700 CBC classes is complete with only a few classes on the roofing stage.

He said he has successfully managed to weed out cartels in the construction of classrooms.

The CS said each CBC classroom cost sh. 788,000 unlike in the past where it used to cost sh. 1,260,000.

He said the construction of 5,300 classes under phase 2 will start soon . He said he will meet the president to release the money for the same.

Present in during the event were Knec CEO David Njengere, TSC CEO Dr. Nancy Macharia, PS Julius Jwan, PS Fatuma Chege, KPSA chairman Johnson Nzioka and teachers unions officials Collins Oyuu (Knut) and Akelo Misero (Kuppet).

Macharia said teachers are well prepared to receive form 1 admissions.

She said the Commission has trained 229,292 in the last three years. Macharia said another 60,000 teachers will be trained in April this year to handle junior secondary.

She said the training will include private school teachers as well as special education teachers.
