The Kenya National Examinations Council (Knec) will start sensitization programs for personnel contracted in administration of 2025 national exams and assessments.
Teachers will be attending briefing sessions organized by Knec and TSC in their Sub Counties and zones.
The briefings will start after TSC Sub County officials complete the teacher deployment exercise and teachers are issued with Knec deployment letters.
Already the Council briefed other key players in the exams which will be starting in October, including the TSC Sub County Directors who are incharge of deploying teachers to exam centres.
Knec has spelt strict deployment rules for teachers this year. The TSC Sub County Directors are only allowed to deploy teachers who are registered and employed by TSC.
The deployed teachers must not have served in the same school for the last three years.
Learners will be sitting for KPSEA, KJSEA, KPLEA, KILEA and KCSE exams and assessments.
Knec has directed that only primary school teachers to invigilate the 2025 KCSE exams. However only secondary school teachers will be supervising it.
The KCSE supervisors will however be rotated weekly as Knec seek to address rampant exam malpractices.
On KJSEA, junior school teachers will work as supervisors assisted by primary school teachers who will work both as supervisors and invigilators.
Each KPSEA and KJSEA exam centre will have only one supervisor assisted by invigilators except those with more than 200 candidates.
Primary school teachers will be incharge of supervising KPSEA. They will also work as invigilators assisted by junior school teachers.
Knec said it will activate the CP2 portal on from 26th September to allow deployment of teachers.
Teachers will then create CP2 accounts, login and download the deployment letters which show duties and responsibilities.
Below is part of the Briefing Notes sent to TSC Sub County Directors by Knec to guide the 2025 national exams administration.
