RE: UPLOADING OF GRADE 4 AND CLASS 8 SCORES

1.0     The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) is mandated to set and maintain assessment  standards; administer assessment and award  certification, among other roles.

2.0     KNEC administered school based learning assessments for Grade Four (4 ) and Class Eight (8) from 26th to 30th October 2020, and schools have been scoring and uploading the scores onto the KNEC Assessment Portal   using the correct formats provided by KNEC.

3.0     There is a notable progress in uploading of the scores, especially for Class Eight {8).

However, there is still a notable proportion of schools which have not uploaded the scores.

4.0     The Council is planning for data processing, analysis and compilation of reports on the findings of the Grade Four (4) and Class Eight (8) assessments from 7th December, 2020.

The reports on the findings of  the assessment shall be submitted  to the Ministry of Education, the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) and disseminated to schools before 18th December, 2020.

5.0      In view of the above, there is  need for the uploading exercise to be concluded.

The purpose of this communication, therefore, is to request your office to inform the Head teachers of the attached schools in your county/sub county to upload the scores using the correct format provided by KNEC  earlier on.

This should be done by 8th December, 2020.

6.0     The Kenya National Examinations Council appreciates your continued support and the mutual working relationship.

Dr.  Mercy G. Karogo, MBS
Ag. CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER.
