How teachers can apply for position of Head, Deputy and Senior teacher deadline 10/9/2019

After TSC announced promotional vacancies for 6,043 positions of headteacher and deputy headteacher many teachers have are stranded on how to make applications. TSC is seeking to fill 2,310 vacant positions in the headteacher category and 3,733 in the deputy headteacher category. For position of Senior teacher there are 4,000 but which you are not required to apply but it will be on common cadre promotion and on merit.

TSC in the advertisement it made today has asserted that for one to be a school administrator he or she must be under Career Progression Guidelines (CPGs) for teachers. Knut had earlier gone to court to quash the CPGs to have its members promoted using the Schemes of Service (SOS). “TSC will undertake promotions in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Code of Regulations for teachers and the schemes of service with respect to all unionisable tutors,” Judge Bryan Ongaya ruled on 13 last month. All Knut members are in SOS which makes it impossible to be school administrators.
