Grade 2 pupil dies while playing with classmates in Suba, Homabay county

A 9-year-old boy died on Tuesday after he was injured while playing with his classmates in their school in Suba-South, Homa Bay County.

The Class Two pupil at Koga Primary School is reported to have been playing in the classroom with his classmates when he was allegedly accidentally pushed by of the pupils.

Confirming the incident, Homa Bay County Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) boss Daniel Wachira said the boy was pushed to the classroom wall, sustaining severe injuries.

The boy collapsed and was taken to Seka Health Centre where he was pronounced dead while undergoing treatment.

The police boss said preliminary investigations revealed that the pupil who pushed his the boy had no intention to cause harm to the minor.

The body of the deceased was moved to St. Camilus Hospital mortuary awaiting post-mortem.
