Government bans crusades, ‘disco matanga’ during exam period

The government has banned noisy church services and funerals during the national examinations period. The Kenya Certificate of Primary and Secondary Education examinations start in October. Busia deputy county commissioner Frederick Ayieko gave the order on Tuesday during a workshop for exam supervisors, invigilators and security officers at St Teresa Girls Secondary School.

He said no ‘disco matanga’ will take place during the exams and crusades will be only be allowed between 10am and 5pm on weekends
