Sossion calls on Knut ADC ahead of September 2021 elections

The Kenya National Union of Teachers (Knut) Secretary General Wilson Sossion has written to all Knut Branch Secretaries putting them on notice of an upcoming Annual Delegates Conference (ADC) that will culminate to election of national leadership in September.

Through a letter dated 22nd April 2021, Sossion said the nomination of the delegates to the Annual Delegates Conference shall be guided by the Branch Executive Council (BECs).

Knut however unlike Kuppet will not hold its ADC virtually but though physical meeting.

Sossion said this years ADC will have two agendas and asked branches to adequately prepare for the ADC and all organs of the Union to effectively play their roles in ensuring a successful ADC.

There have been tension that Knut would not hold its ADC after Sossion released a circular that suspended some branch elections due to Covid-19 surge.

The delegates are also expected to address the leadership wrangles that is bedeviling the once giant teachers union.

Sossion is expected to face off with Kericho Knut Secretary, Stanley Mutai, for the Union top seat.

Sossion warned regions against grabbing other regions’ National Steering Seats for peace and order to prevail in the Union.

Below is the notice issued by Sossion to Knut branches countrywide;
