Primary and post primary school teachers who are aged forty five years and over stand a greater chance of getting promotion to the next job group.
TSC boss Nancy Macharia said teachers who attended promotion interviews will start getting interview results this week.
The successful teachers will start getting their TSC promotion letters this week.
However details of the TSC scoresheets shows that teachers who are aged forty five years and over scored highly and are most likely to be issued with promotion letters starting this week.
In primary and post primary school teachers interview scoresheets those aged 45 to 49 years were awarded nine clean marks because of their age.
This puts them far ahead of their junior competitors. Another set of teachers who are set to be confirmed are those in acting positions.

Earnestly waiting for the promotion
Having stayed in one job group for years am eagerly waiting for the promotion
The marking scheme is fair. With rampant exam cheating in ‘big schools’ where young teachers are hired to do exams for candidates to copy, emphasis should not be on students’ KCSE performance but other areas as well.

Kindly have an appraisal formula,consider various parameters; Academics,experience,performance,discipline,co-curricula etc.This will act as a motivation to all.

Why further and no recognition by tsc
Reduce retirement age to be 55 when teachers are still at least strong so as to plan well in their retirement
All parameters have been used including performance. If academic performance is used as merit then teachers in Subcounty schools will never be promoted because they may never make even 5.000 mean.
TSC is trying to go for all areas that make a teacher.
A teacher in national school easily make an A from a 400 student and u want to expect the same from a teacher who receives below 150 marks in kcpe. No miracle
What about PWDs
Age factor was ok coz older ppl are approaching retirement, they also ought to have considered academic advancement coz some spent a lot of money for that
Wafula retirement age should be added to 65 as most of primary teachers are trained and CBC compliance for smooth transition to the next level
Am optimistic I will be promoted.
