The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) will extend application deadline for 46,000 jobs it recently advertised.
This follows a persistent technical problem with its database system that has affected smooth application exercise.
The Commission has already issued an apology over the technical hitches experienced by teachers during application for the 46,000 teaching jobs.
TSC had given intern and unemployed teachers upto the midnight of 7th October to submit their applications.
However many unemployed and intern teachers were frustrated as the irresponsive system refused their applications and only displayed ‘Dancer2’ among other errors.
“We regret to inform you that we are currently experiencing technical challenges affecting the teacher recruitment portal. We apologise for the inconvenience this has caused and kindly request your patience as we work diligently to restore the portal as soon as possible,” TSC said in a statement today.
TSC will address the problems with its online systems and set new deadline for application for the jobs.
The Commission has advertised 46,000 teaching jobs for teachers to apply. These are 6,000 posts for Primary Schools, 39, 550 posts for Junior Schools and 450 posts for Secondary Schools.
Intern teachers have been awarded 50 marks in the scoresheet that was released by the Commission this week.
This makes conversion of intern teachers to permanent and pensionable terms automatic. It also signals that teachers can only be employed on permanent terms after going through the internship process.
Below is the advert that was released by TSC, inviting intern and unemployed teachers to apply.

TEACHERS SERVICE COMMISSION
Tsc should extend application dates due to technical problem when login the portal.since government made rule application to be sent through online why there problem or we return to manual?I am frustrated.I have used bundle worthy ksh 200 and I have slept hungry because I have used money that was meant to buy food to buying bundles.
TSC is a well established commission with adequate resources. it is shame that it has experienced technical hitches longer than envisaged.
recruitment should be from the database rather than the tedious applications and verifications of documents…. when a teacher is rejected now though he has the qualifications, what reason will you give again to employ him or her.
points and age should be used in elimination… and 29 pts is not equal to 47 pts. and 23 yrs is not equal to 43 yrs.The aforesaid elements should be used to ease the process otherwise confusion and frustrations will be inevitable
Tsc should extend the date of application.Have tried my best but its not responding this hitches problem should not be sees since the deadline is today .
Mine is still not going through. No code sent… How can I be helped. Deadline is today
