TSC requirements for appointing Primary Headteacher and Deputy

HEAD TEACHER (REGULAR PRIMARY SCHOOL)  T-SCALE 10

REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT

For appointment to this grade, a teacher must: –

  1. have served as Deputy Head Teacher II TSC Scale 9 for a minimum period of three (3) years; 
  2. have satisfactory rating in the performance appraisal process; 
  3. have demonstrated ability to supervise, mentor and provide professional support to other teachers; 
  4. meet the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution; and
  5. meet any other requirement the Commission may deem necessary.

HEAD TEACHER (SNE PRIMARY SCHOOL) T-SCALE 10

REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT

For appointment to this grade, a teacher must: –

  1. have served as Deputy Head Teacher II TSC Scale 9 for a minimum period of three (3) years; 
  2. have at least a Diploma in Special Needs Education (in the area of specialty indicated);
  3. have satisfactory rating in the performance appraisal process; 
  4. have demonstrated ability to supervise, mentor and provide professional support to other teachers; 
  5. meet the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution; and
  6. meet any other requirement the Commission may deem necessary.

DEPUTY HEAD TEACHER II (REGULAR PRIMARY SCHOOL) T-SCALE 9

REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT

For appointment to this grade, a teacher must: –

  1. have served as Senior Teacher I T- Scale 8 for a minimum period of three (3) years; 
  2. have satisfactory rating in the performance appraisal; 
  3. have demonstrated ability to supervise, mentor and provide professional support to other teachers; 
  4. meet the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution; and 
  5. meet any other requirement the Commission may deem necessary.

REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT

For appointment to this grade, a teacher must: –

Candidates who will be successful in the interviews shall be required to present valid Chapter Six documents before they are considered for appointment.

Candidates selected will be required to present the following documents which MUST be valid;

1) Letter of appointment to the current grade

2) Letter of appointment/deployment to the current responsibility

3) Certificate of good conduct from Directorate of Criminal Investigations

4) Clearance certificate by Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)

5) Clearance application from Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission

6) Clearance certificate from a Credit Reference bureau

7) Tax compliance certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority
