The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) is set to train its teachers on use of remote technologies to ease transfer of learning.
The training according to TSC will help teachers to continue teaching their learners even when they are in different locations using different modes such as the radio, television, video conferencing, computers among other emerging technologies.
The training for both primary and high school teachers will start next week across the country.
TSC has already instructed school heads to furnish it with details of teachers who will attend the training after mid-term break ends.
School heads both from primary and secondary schools were ordered to submit the details to their Curriculum Support Officers (CSO) for immediate processing.
For primary schools three teachers plus the head teacher will attend the training.
For secondary schools two teachers will attend the training.
The training dubbed Remote Learning Methodology will start on Monday 7th June with school Principals attending the training virtually.
Details required to be summitted by head of institutions for the attendees are;
1 Name of the teacher
2 His/her TSC number
3 His/her gender
4 The school the teacher belongs
5 The teacher’s mobile phone number
All participants are also required to attend with an ICT gadget (smartphone or laptop).

Knut protested after TSC planned training of teachers on Madaraka Day.
The Kenya National Union of Teachers (Knut) wrote to TSC to reschedule the CBC training to avoid conflict over the holiday.
Knut Secretary General Wilson Sossion said TSC should reschedule CBC training to another date apart from 1st June.
However teachers proceeded with training despite the protests.
