The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has advertised 6,000 deployment slots for serving primary school teachers with degree in secondary option to apply by 18th March 2024.
TSC plans to promote the PTE teachers by posting them to serve in junior secondary school section early next term.
The Commission has asked teachers who are qualified to apply for the deployment by 18th March.
Primary School teachers wishing to be deployed to JSS must be qualified to teach in secondary schools. The teacher MUST meet the following requirements:

At least 8 units in each of the two teaching subjects.
Those with a minimum of C (plain) at KCSE (or its equivalent) and have undertaken a Diploma in Education together with a Bachelor Degree in Education qualify.

How about those p1 who are not employed since 2013 and back, who will fight for them?some of us we wish to get that tsc job so that we can further our studies,we used all the resources we had to get that p1 certificate,we someone tells us to go back to get diploma or degree, tutumie Nini surely? we have already started paying school fees for our kids, plz tsc have mercy on us,tunazeekea nyumbani jameni.
Why discriminate primary school teachers teachers with a Diploma or Degree in Primary option….That’s unfair
How about those in administration interested in being in junior.
They are eligible and should apply
How about the P1 teachers who went for upgrade and now have upgrade (DPTE)?
Excuse me plz what about p1 teachers with c plain did pre university course before enrolling for degree
There are teachers who scored C plain in KCSE, enrolled in universities, did their degree and passed so well with secondary subject combinations. The TSC has refused to upgrade them pegged on their certificates and neither can they be taken to JSS. How will the employer help such teachers? Why can’t they be allowed to apply for JSS posts after all it’s not the form four certificate that teachers but the teachers as long as they had C+ in their teaching subjects?
I am a victim of those with a C plain and a degree in secondary option. I now teach JSS students without any extra coin. I am languishing in C1 despite handling 3 classes for English Jss and two business studies alongside primary school lessons. Who will rescue us?
