The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) on Tuesday 12th August 2025 declared 21,313 promotion vacancies for teachers to apply.
The Commission gave interested teachers two weeks to apply online for the advertised posts which covers teachers from job group C1 to D4.
According to TSC the applications for promotions must be submitted by the midnight of Monday, 25th August 2025.
As the application exercise continues details have emerged on when teachers will start attending for interviews.
Sources close to the Commission say the promotion interviews will start two weeks after schools reopen for third term.
Schools will reopen next week on Monday, 25th August 2025 for third term which has nine weeks.
Primary school teachers will start the interviews and will have ten interview days which will be chaired by TSC County and Sub County Directors.
Post primary school teachers i.e secondary and TTCs, will also attend interviews for ten days after conclusion of primary school teachers interviews.
In the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) 2025 – 2029 which TSC and teachers unions signed, the Commission pledged to promote teachers across all cadres at a cost of Sh1 Billion this financial year.
