TSC apologizes over technical error in its teacher application system

The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has issued an apology over the technical hitches experienced by teachers during application for the 46,000 teaching jobs it has recently advertised.

Many unemployed and intern teachers were frustrated as the irresponsive system refused their applications and only showed them ‘Dancer2’ among other errors.

“We regret to inform you that we are currently experiencing technical challenges affecting the teacher recruitment portal. We apologise for the inconvenience this has caused and kindly request your patience as we work diligently to restore the portal as soon as possible,” TSC said in a statement.

The Commission has advertised 46,000 teaching jobs for teachers to apply. These are 6,000 posts for Primary Schools, 39, 550 posts for Junior Schools and 450 posts for Secondary Schools.

However intern teachers have been awarded 50 marks in the scoresheet that was released by the Commission.

This makes conversion of intern teachers to permanent and pensionable terms automatic. It also signals that teachers can only be employed on permanent terms after going through the internship process.

Below is the advert that was released by TSC, inviting intern and unemployed teachers to apply.
