The Treasury has given all government retirees till 28th February, 2026 to register online for pension warning that failure to register will lead to salary (pension) stoppage.
Pensioners are required to carry their original ID, bankplate, and pension number or personal number to their nearest Huduma Centre for registration.
Government has also allowed the services to be done easily at home or a retiree can visit a nearby cyber if they lack skills.
The following details are required for pension registration exercise.
- Your national ID
- Your bank plate or sacco plate
- Your KRA PIN number
- Your Pension number
- Your email address
- You ought to know your exact date of birth
- Your postal address and code
- Your next of kin’s full name as they appear on the ID
- Your next of kin’s ID number
- Your next of kin’s email address and mobile number
- Your next of kin’s KRA PIN number
- Your next of kin’s postal address and code
- Your beneficiaries’ names(these could be more than one) and ID numbers and postal addresses – If they are your children, carry their birth certificates
A majority of pensioners have already registered—if you have not yet done so, this is your last chance!
Ensure your details are up to date to avoid any disruptions to your pension payments.

1. Online Registration: Navigate to the E-citizen Portal, log-in and follow the self-registration process under the Pensions Department, National Treasury.
2. In-Person Assistance: Visit any Huduma Centre, Treasury Pensions Department office, or designated registration agent for help.

PENSIONERS SELF REGISTRATION EXERCISE END DATE 28-02-2026
As part of the ongoing Public Service Pension Administration Reforms the National Treasury officially launched an online Pensioner Self Registration Portal.
The portal is hosted on the e-Citizen platform under the National Treasury – Pensions Department services.
Following the launch all pensioners and dependants in receipt of monthly pension administered by the Pensions Department are required to register themselves by 28th February 2026 for continued remittance of their monthly pension.
The registration targets pensioners in the category of retired:
- State Officers
- Civil Servants
- Teachers who are former employees of TSC
- Police, Prisons and National Youth Service Officers
- Military officers and
- Dependants of deceased pensioners
In order to register, a pensioner or dependant is required to have a valid email address, mobile telephone number, KRA pin number and an eCitizen account.
Documents required to upload during the registration include scanned pdf copies of;
- National ID (both front and backside)
- Bank or SACCO ATM card of your pension disbursement account (face side only with name and A/C No. clearly legible)
- Birth certificates for children
- Death certificates for principal pensioners and
- Tax exception certificates for PWD where applicable

The online pensioner self registration can be done 24/7 using a mobile smartphone or desktop/laptop computer from any location.

The information is not clear since it talks about 28th February 2025 and othe areas stated as 28th February 2026. Which is which?

My details or file if I may call it were submitted to The Treasury for further action as from 15th December 2025. Do I fall in this group or yet to. Maybe the concerned personal or someone probably well informed should put this information clearly to me through my email. Waiting.
Is this a new registration process or a continuation of the 2025 registration? It is not clear. Kindly clarify.
