RE: SCHOOL BASED ASSESSMENTS UNDER THE LEARNING CONTINUITY IN BASIC EDUCATION PROJECT
1.0 As you are aware, the Kenya National Examinations Council ( KNEC), on behalf of the Ministry of Education( MoE) conducted school- based learning assessments for Grade 4 and Standard 8 under the Kenya GPE COVID-19 Learning Continuity in Basic Education Project.
The overarching aim of the assessments was to establish learning gaps that may have been occasioned by the long period of closure due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, with a view to inform on interventions to be put in place towards addressing the gaps.
2.0 The Kenya National Examinations Council wishes to thank all Head teachers and teachers of the significant proportion of schools who have successfully uploaded the assessment scores, as well as those who are still uploading the scores.
3.0 It has, however, come to the attention of KNEC that the uploading exercise has been faced with challenges, which have slowed the process of uploading.
4.0 Cognizant of the challenges, and in order to ensure effective capture of all scores and allow for reliable reporting, KNEC wishes to give the following direction:
4.1 The deadline for uploading the scores has been extended to 20th November, 2020.
4.2 Schools shall upload the dully filled excel file, that was downloaded from the KNEC system, without real-time processing of scores.
Upon successful uploading, an auto-message will be sent to the schools informing them that “processing shall be done within two (2) weeks”
4.3 Schools which may have challenges in uploading as guided in 4.2 above, will attach the dully filled excel file downloaded from the KNEC system, and send to the following KNEC e-mail address lcbe@knec.ac.ke. The file shall be processed within two (2) weeks and feedback shall be given.
4.4 Schools which still face challenges while uploading the scores can contact their Sub county Directors of Education (as guided in the Guidelines of Administration of Assessments uploaded on the KNEC portal), or contact KNEC directly on these following numbers :
a) 0715477646
b) 0772069891
5.0 I call upon all Head teachers to support the uploading of the scores to ensure timely feedback is given to enable schools adequately prepare their Class 8 pupils for examinations, and address the learning gaps in the CBC Grade 4 Class before transiting to Grade 5.

Thanks for the extension, and hopes that the portal is now updated for quicker uploading, especially for schools with large population.
The elephant in the house was, on your side. The process of uploading has been too slow to call. Have you done sth to the portal?
sending through the official email address given to us is the most significant method as for now because still there is a problem with uploading dully excel sheets offline
I really appreciate the way you are working
I have not uploaded my grade four outcomes due the technical.Another extension will help.
whey is grade four not uploading.
Apploading grade 4 scores is hectic. Can I use any email to send the results?
Yes use this email lcbe@knec.ac.ke its the quickest methos
it’s good system to bring back all knowledge for the students due to long holiday season
Thanks. The email method will do many of us good. Uploading a duly filled excel sheet is still frustrating especially those with large number of candidates.
the excel sheet is still a problem to upload for 8 and 4 i work in cyber but experience problem please assist?
JUST SEND THE DULY FILLED EXCEL FILE TO KNEC EMAIL LCBE@KNEC.AC.KE
Was almost giving, but now am working comfortably
processing please wait ……………….?
that is the challenges we are facing during upload
I think for cyber guys it will e tricky somehow does it mean you open email account for each centre or you can use one email adresd to upload outcomes for several schools?
Kindly extend this deadline further for those of us who have had challenges all through we are really working hard to send in our results
How do we add a learner to the existing list?
