KNEC 2025 BRIEF REPORT UPDATE

1. 2025 CANDIDATURE

2. OMR ANSWER SHEETS

  • Candidates must shade the   circles correctly, not cross them.
  • If a candidate cannot shade, they should mark answers on the question paper.
  • The supervisor must staple the OMR sheet to the question paper and return both in the script return envelope.

3.  SITTING PLAN

  • Should be written once.
  • No stamps or endorsements allowed.
  • Should be packed in the supervisor’s report.

4. COUNTERFOILS

  • All papers will be personalized with learners’ details.
  • No extra papers will be issued.
  • Do not detach the counterfoil until 10 minutes before the end of the assessment.

5. ABSENTEES

  • Mark “AB” on the nominal roll and the return envelope sheet.
  • Do not detach their counterfoils.
  • Return their question papers to the container — do not retain them at the centre.

6. USE OF CALCULATORS & WATCHES

  • Only non-programmable calculators allowed.
  • Calculator covers are prohibited in the exam room.
  • Wrist watches   are not allowed — schools should provide wall clocks  .

7. VISITORS’ BOOKS & PHONES

  • Provide a lockable desk outside for visitors’ books and phones.
  • All phones must be on silent mode and locked in the desk.
  • The supervisor is responsible for the phones.

8. AUTHORIZED PERSONNEL DURING ASSESSMENT

 Persons allowed in the examination centre:

  • Centre Manager
  • Supervisors
  • Invigilators
  • Cooks
  • Gatekeepers
  • KNEC Monitoring Officers

9. UNAUTHORIZED PERSONNEL

Persons not allowed during assessments:

  • School Director
  • BOM Chairperson
  • Bursar / Accounts Clerk
  • Unauthorized Teachers
  • Secretary
  • Groundsman

10. WHISTLEBLOWING ON MALPRACTICE

If you witness any exam malpractice, you can report confidentially through:

  • Visiting KNEC offices in person
  • Writing a letter to KNEC
  • Using KNEC social media platforms
  • Calling the IPOA toll-free line:  1559

11. SUPERVISOR’S PACK – OUT FROM CONTAINER

Includes:

  • Candidate List
  • Question Papers 
  • OMR Answer Sheets

12. SUPERVISOR’S PACK – IN TO CONTAINER

Includes:

  • Polybag for Answer Scripts
  • Envelope for Counterfoils 
  • Unused or Absent Scripts
  • Administration Materials (end of each assessment)

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

1) Supervisors, Centre Managers, and Invigilators must wear their KNEC badges, carry National IDs, and appointment letters.

2) Invigilators may stand at the back of classrooms during assessment.

3) Supervisors must report any misconduct by invigilators or security personnel.

3) There will be no security personnel for KPSEA and KJSEA, except in porous or high-risk areas.

4) For emergencies, contact KNEC Call Centre: 0800 721 410 / 0800 724 900

    • IPOA and EACC will be part of the KNEC monitoring team.
