2022 GRADE 4 AGRICULTURE PROJECT LEGUME CROP PRODUCTION

INSTRUCTIONS
a) The teacher(s) will guide the learners to carefully read through the performance task, carry out the task and maintain evidence.

b) The teacher(s) will use the Assessment guide provided to assess the learner’s work.

c) Samples of work that show the learners progress and performance on the tasks should be maintained as evidence.

d) Samples of work selected for evidence should aim at demonstrating the learner’s progress and achievement on the different stages of project implementation.

e) Implementation of the project should be completed by 16th September 2022.

f) The marks awarded for the performance level demonstrated should be recorded on the score sheet provided.

PERFORMANCE TASK 1 Growing a legume crop
1.1 Individually learners use textbooks, magazines, digital devices, guided internet and consult resource persons, parents /guardians to source for information on production of a legume crop of their choice using a container garden.

1.2 In groups of 4-6 learners, each learner takes a turn to present to the group on how to produce the legume crop chosen using a container garden.

1.3 The group members then discuss and agree on one type of legume crop to grow as a group using a container garden.

1.4 The group then grows the legume crop. The container garden should have at least 40 plants (10 plants per group member).

2 Each learner should be assessed on the following:

2.1 Information collected on the production of the legume crop.

2.2 Individual presentation to the group.

2.3 Group discussion on the legume crop to grow.

2.4 Participation in the growing of the legume crop.
