Kiambu: 54 female teachers take TSC to court over ‘illegal’ Kewota deductions

Fifty four women teachers from Kiambu in Gatundu sub county have initiated a court process over what they term as ‘’illegal deductions’’ from their employer TSC.

Through Julius and advocates law firm the teachers expressed their grievances over deductions which they didn’t approve.

Last month a group of secondary school teachers took to the social media platform to express their displeasure over a move to deduct deductions for Kewota membership from their monthly salaries without their consent.

They accused Kewota of not following the normal procedure of getting membership.

“After its formation Kewota raided the payslip even before its official launch. Were teachers supposed to fund all their activities including the launch?” Wondered one of the teachers.

TSC is yet to respond over this recent activities in Kiambu.
