Primary school learners together with those in junior secondary school will start their first term athletic activities after mid term break.
Already the Kenya Primary School Sports Association (KPSSA) said the junior secondary school learners will join their colleagues in primary school in this term games activities.
Schools will break for mid term (half term) on 16th March till 19th March when it will be ending.
Upon resuming primary and junior secondary schools will start their athletics from cluster level which will then cascade to zonal, sub county and county level.
The activities will then spill over to regionals and finally national where it will end.
KPSSA in a letter addressed to all Regional, County and Sub County secretaries listed the 2023 track and field events as follows;

- 200M BOYS/ GIRLS

- 400 M HURDLES BOYS/GIRLS

- 2000M STEEPLECHAS
- 3000M BOYS/GIRLS
- 5000M BOYS/GIRLS
- 5000M WALK RACE BOYS/GIRLS
- 4 X 100M Relay BOYS/ GIRLS
- 4 X 400M Relay BOYS/GIRLS
- 4 X 400M MIXED RELAY

The body also listed the requirements for learners participating in the events this year.
REQUIREMENTS
- Dully filled introductory form, signed and endorsed by the Head teacher. (Attached)
- An athlete’s full photography taken with the Head teacher and endorsed by the Head teacher at the back. ( No group Photo)
- Photocopy of birth Certificate Endorsed by the Head teacher.
