RE: APPROVAL FOR SCHOOLS TO ACCESS SCHOOL SPECIFIC REPORTS FOR THE CLASS 8 ASSESSMENT UNDER THE KENYA GPE-COVID-19 LEARNING CONTINUITY IN BASIC EDUCATION PROJECT
1.0 As you are aware, the Kenya National Examinations Council has been undertaking data processing for the Class 8 and Grade 4 assessments under the Kenya GPE COVID-19
Learning Continuity in Basic Education project.
2.0 Having achieved the acceptable response rate for Class 8 learners , KNEC has developed school specific reports for each of the assessed subjects.
The reports will enable teachers establish learning gaps in specific content/ skill area.
The reports will also help schools compare their performance in various subjects with the national performance.
Schools will also find information provided on misconceptions/ challenges in specific skill/ content area, as well recommendations on how to mitigate the challenges, useful in addressing learning gaps.
3.0 The purpose of this communication, therefore, is to inform you that the reports are ready and schools can access their school specific reports for Class 8 from the KNEC LCBE portal.
4.0 I also call upon Head teachers whose schools have not uploaded the scores for Grade 4 assessment to do so before 18th December 2020 to allow KNEC finalise on data processing and provide a similar report to schools.
Dr. Mercy Karogo, MBS
CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
