Another student arrested after attempting to hack Deputy Principal

Another high school student has been arrested in Nyamira County after an alleged attempt to hack his deputy principal on Wednesday morning.

The incident occurred at Mokwerero Secondary School in Kitutu Masaba Constituency.

The student was reportedly seized within the school compound while armed with a machete and a sharpening file by teachers who rescued the deputy principal from the botched attack.

TSC regretted the incident and condemned the attempted attack on its teachers.

“TSC regrets the recent attacks on our teachers by the leaners in Kisii and the attempted attack by another student in Mokwerero Sec School in Nyamira County. Let’s all Kenyans of goodwill help mentor our children positively” TSC said through its twitter handle.

This comes after a form three student at Kisii High School pleaded not guilty to attempted murder charges.

Isaya Flora was arraigned at the Kisii Law Courts before Senior Resident Magistrate Stephen Njoro on Wednesday.

He was charged that on January 12, 2021 within the precincts of Kisii High School, he stabbed two teachers.

Mr. Edwin Mokaya was seriously injured while Mr. Elvis Maoto survived with minor cuts.

The 17-year-old student denied the charges and was released on cash bail of Ksh. 50,000 or bond of Ksh. 100,000.

He will be remanded at Manga Juvenile Home.
