President Uhuru Kenyatta today made an impromptu visit to Kwale county to inspect a number of projects.
After visiting Lungalunga sub-county to inspect the ongoing construction of a tarmac road from Lungalunga Kibaoni to Mwangulu the president made a visit to Bang’a in Kinango Sub-county to inspect the ongoing construction of the first ever Teachers Training College (TTC) in the county.
“An impromptu visit to Kwale Teachers Training College with President Uhuru Kenyatta. Through this visit H.E Kenyatta has decided to support this project with 150 million to aid in the next phases of construction,” said Kwale governor Salim Mvurya.
“We have also requested the president to complete the tarmac from Kinango to Kwale. He has asked CS roads to ensure the contractor reports to site by November this year. We look forward to this, because the road is key to the opening of the county. We are also grateful to the President for the construction of Lungalunga Kibaoni to Mwangulu which has commenced,” he said.
The Sh300 million teachers training college will be used to train P1 and Early Childhood Development and Education (ECDE) courses.
It will be the second public teachers training college (TTC) in Coast after Shanzu in Mombasa. The other TTC in Bura is a private one owned by the Catholic Church.
