The government has called for applications for P1 teacher trainees beginning next week Monday. The applications are to be sent in by May 2, according to a circular signed by Basic Education PS Belio Kipsang.
“Admission letters for the successful candidates for both first and second admissions will be dispatched to the zonal education offices, not posted,” it reads. Applicants should have attained a mean grade C (plain) and above in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education exam.
The ministry has directed applicants not to pay any charges. The ministry has lowered entry marks for applicants with disability. “A minimum grade of C- (minus) for visually impaired (VI-blind) and hearing impaired (HI) candidates. (totally deaf and totally blind),” the circular reads.
Nemis needs more time allocation. The process requires collaboration from more than one departments for it to run smooth.
