KCPE results set to be released amid new standardization claims

Results for some 1,244,188 candidates who sat for Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) in November have been released by Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu.

Top candidate in this exam has scored 431 marks. The number of candidates who scored different marks are as follows;

(400 and above) – 9,443
300-399 -(307,756)
200-299 (619,593)
100-199 (296,336)
1-99 (724)
Total
1,233,852

The release of the results will be followed by Form One selection, that will happen after Christmas in order to give parents time to prepare their children before schools open on January 23.

According to a circular dated 1st November 2022, from Principal Secretary (PS) for Basic Education, the candidates will join Form one on 30th January 2023.

Candidates can know their KCPE results by sending an SMS with their index number to 20076. They will be charged sh. 25 for sending this SMS.

Standardization for languages i.e English and Kiswahili happened this way. For question 1 to 25 a total of 12 marks was awarded. For question 26 to 50 a total of 48 marks was awarded. In short Comprehension carries 48 marks and Grammar part 12 marks.
