Ministry circular on Trainers reporting back to institutions

RE: TRAINERS REPORTING BACK TO INSTITUTIONS

The Education Sector Task Force on COVID – 19 pandemic  response presented its progress report to Education Stakeholders forum on Monday,  21°’ September,  2020.

The  education  stakeholders  unanimously  resolved  that ALL trainers MUST report back to  institutions  by  Monday 28th September, 2020  so as to  prepare for the anticipated reopening.

In arriving at this resolution, the stakeholders appreciated  available information from Ministry  of  Health  on  COVID 19  pandemic status and  noted that trainers were required to:

1.     Prepare institutions for reopening  in line with COVID  19 protocols issued by the Ministry  of Education  (   i.e  Gate  controls,  Dining  Hall,  Tuition  rooms,  hostels, Ablution Blocks,  Laboratories and workshops).

2.    Prepare training timetables and schedules of all programs.

3.    Undergo orientation and induction on COVID  19 pandemic  responsive practices regarding curriculum delivery and training environment controls.

4.    Undergo  capacity  building  on  COVID  19   responsive   methodologies  such  as remote training

5.    Prepare parents and trainees  on requirements  for reopening  amidst  COVID  19 pandemic.

6.    Prepare to give trainees  psycho-  social  support  so as to cope with  COVID  19 effects in all respects.

7.    Make  all  such  arrangements   requisite  in  the  training  environment  to  prevent or/and proactively respond to possible COVID 19 pandemic occurrences.

Principals are responsible for implementation  of this directive and to make the best use of this opportunity so as to prepare institutions for reopening.
