OPTION 1 HOW TO APPLY FOR LOST KCPE/KCSE CERTIFICATES ONLINE
Here are the step by step guidelines on how to solve this
First if you lost your KCSE or KCPE certificates login to knec’s portal where you will be required to fill QMIS form under confirmation to get the results confirmation.

To apply online for KNEC confirmation of results Click here, then click ‘Register‘ to create an account then apply.
Register as a candidate.
QMIS
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:
Scan any of the following documents.
A photocopy or result slip of the lost certificate (if available)
or
The Class nominal results sheet for the year you did the exam.
or
A letter from the school where you did the exam.
PROCEDURE:
Create your KNEC online account, registering as a candidate.
A password is sent to your email. Use it to log in.
Click on CONFIRMATION and fill in the required details.
Attach the available document and submit.
APPLICATION FEE:
You’ll be required to pay an application fee of Kshs. 2,320 via MPESA Pay bill 250544.
The Mpesa Account number is provided via SMS after submission of the application and verification of your documents.
You can check the progress of your application online by logging in to the portal then click status.
OPTION 2 HOW TO APPLY FOR LOST KCPE/KCSE CERTIFICATES OFFLINE
The Kenya National Examinations Council [KNEC] started implementing policy in replacement of certificates for the affected candidates who sat for KNEC examinations from year 1981 on 2nd March 2009.
It should be noted that Replacement for certificate is issued once only.
The following are the procedures of replacing your lost/damaged KCPE/ KCSE certificates.
Apply In-Person Applicants are required to fill the KNEC Certificate Replacement Form when requesting for certificate replacement.
The form can be obtained from the KNEC Archives and Records Offices or downloaded from KNEC website: KNEC Online
Carefully fill in the details required and attach the relevant documents to accompany the form.
The following documents should be presented together with the application Copy of the certificate [s] or result slips[s].
Mandatory Letter of recommendation from head teacher of the school attended or from CEO( County Education Officer)/SCEO ( Sub-County Education Officer) for private candidates or for those their schools have been closed down addressed to KNEC;
[Original Mandatory] Sworn legal affidavit on identity of applicant;
[Original Mandatory] Letter of recommendation from employer to KNEC;
[Original Mandatory] Police Abstract indicating of loss of certificate; Report should be done at the point of loss.
[Original mandatory] Copy of Identification Card [ID]/Passport or Birth Certificate for those under 18 years.
The name on Birth Certificate/ID Must tally with those used during Examination.
Those who have changed their names legally must attach the legal documents they used to change their name. E.g. marriage certificate for women or the copy of Gazette the changed name appears.
Application with differing Examination details will not be processed.
KNEC bank deposit slip; [Original Mandatory].
The fees required for Replacement Certificate is KE 5,000/= + 16% VAT KE 800/- a total of 5,800 per certificate.
The fees should be paid at KNEC collection accounts in any branch of the following banks:
1) Equity Bank
2) Co-operative Bank of Kenya
3) National Bank of Kenya
4) Kenya Commercial Bank.
NOTE: KNEC deposit bank slips are available in these banks.

The certificates are usually ready for collection after duration of sixty working days from the KNEC offices.

How to get a replacement for CPE 1982 certificate,a copy is available?
I lost my KCSE certificate of 2009 went in person to knec followed the due process paid the money n was told to wait for processing.
I was told I’ll be notified but no notification came and after sometime I went back in person and I was told by one of the staff I delayed to collect and my certificate was shredded,,,I left disappointed
What do I do for I even have the bank slip I paid in?
I did my kcpe in the year 2005 in a private primary school which was closed down the same year without issuing us with results slips and certificate.i joined high school then went for teaching college.I am unable to apply for TSC number since I don’t have the certificate…I went to knec office town office,I was referred to county office ruaraka which is basically in kasarani,they too refferred me to Nyayo office,I went to Nyayo office and they to sent me to City Hall Achieves,at City Hall the sent me back to Nyayo, Remember mine is not alost certificate but no pulpil was issued with both certificate and results slips,and the school was closed down with a trace of the owner.How can I get the certificate to allow me apply for TSC number.kindly help.
