The Kenya National Union of Teachers (Knut) has been at loggerheads with TSC and Ministry of education over CBC. In April it led its member to distruct the training. Most centres had the trainings paralysed after Knut officials heed Sossions call. In may 160 teachers got interdicted after disrupting CBC training which took place during the April holiday. CBC Sessions were disrupted in counties including Kwale, Kakamega, Homabay and Makueni. This led to TSC interdicting the teachers who took part in causing chaos. They were given 21 days to present there defence on why they should not be fired on grounds of violating rules and regulations of their employment. Out of these 42 teachers whose case were heard got fired and given 90 days to appeal.
The training which will involve both primary and secondary school teachers comes at a time when TSC is faced with budget cuts.
We should discard politics in all institutions of learning.
I see
The ministry should ensure all teachers are trained, avail all required materials by learners and teachers. There should also be a certificate to make it serious or the ministry to join hand with TSC for a quick success

James I think the idea of certification is a good one for those who get trained
How do the CBC champions attend the trainings
Just like in August
I am a pioneer in cbc since it started ,i have raised the issue of certification but in vain please something MUST be done
Surely let them do something
They should do something about the certification for sure!
Am looking forward for that too
I suggest that if TSC was genuine and serious on promoting teachers basing on their (teachers’) performance, then the CBC champions should be the first ones to be considered. My little research has revealed that most of the champions do help their CSO’s a lot in terms of supervision and monitoring since the two are more conversant with the curriculum.
Something funny is that no certificates are awarded.
Just my thought.
Hope they will be considered
I have been serving as a senior teacher in my school for the last 3 years but I have not received my appointment letter.
I have written several letters to but no response todate.
You should see your sun-county staffing officer he’s in a good position to help
I sent my academic papers last month and I have not received any notification.
should I resend them?
See your staffing officer or dhro he’ll help with that
CBC is the best for the learners but it labours the teachers a lot, government should at least a little recognition.I support it 100% and I expect the same from my learners
great hope it will be considered
