Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC), on Saturday, directed all students who sat the 2022 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) to collect certificates from their respective schools.
KNEC also urged the 2023 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) candidates to collect their result slips.
“The 2022 KCPE certificates and 2023 KCSE result slips have been sent to all schools that presented candidates for the examinations,” read part of a statement by KNEC.
“Candidates and parents or guardians are therefore encouraged to visit their schools and collect the documents.”
KNEC added that the institutions and candidates had 30 days to raise any grievances upon the issuance of the certificates.
“Queries about examination results/certificates must be made through the Heads of Schools and the Sub County Directors of Education,” read the statement by the examination body.
“The appeal documents must reach KNEC not later than 30 days after the release of the examination results/certificates, after which the query shall attract a penalty.”
A total of 1,230,588 candidates sat the 2022 KCPE examinations with all qualifying for admission to Form One in line with the government’s 100 per cent transition policy.
Meanwhile, 899,453 candidates sat the 2023 KCSE exams, a two per cent increase from the number recorded in 2022.
Last week, KNEC kicked off registration for the Kenya Primary School Assessment (KPSEA) and KCSE 2024 exams.
The exam body directed teachers to ensure all eligible candidates register before March 29, 2024.
“All examination centres are expected to log onto a platform for specific examination and enter the candidates’ details using the school registration password,” KNEC directed.
