KNEC officially cancels ECDE and SNE April teacher exams due to coronavirus

The Kenya National Examination Council has released a circular that has officially postponed ECDE and SNE April teacher examinations .

“The Kenya National Examinations Council wishes to inform you that the 2020 ECDE (Proficiency, Certificate and Diploma) examinations scheduled to take place between 12th and 16th April 2020 and the Dipoma in Special Needs Education (SNE) examination scheduled to be done between 12th and 23rd April 2020 have been postponed until further notice” reads part of the circular.

This comes at a period when Knec had already issued a similar circular postponing Diploma teacher examinations.

Knec is struggling to keep its calendar of events running after it recently cancelled a programme meant to travel in the United Kingdom (UK) to oversee KCPE and KCSE exams progress. Its still unclear whether these exams too will be postponed due to the virus scare which has now 50 confirmed infection cases in the country and 1 death.
