JSS intern teachers tipped on TSC TPay activation, payslip access

A total of 20,000 Junior Secondary School (JSS) intern teachers who were recruited and were posted to schools in January have been directed on registration to the T-Pay system.

The Commission had in February paid the teachers their February stipend with January arrears.

However the teachers were not able to access their payslips online to inform them of the payments and deductions made.

The Commission has now directed the teachers to visit their TSC County ICT officers to have their Tpay activated and get issued with login credentials to access their online payslips.

However a total of 1,645 JSS intern teachers secured permanent and pensionable employment in the recent replacement exercise.

TSC had advertised 5,862 posts for secondary schools. The teachers completed filling employment forms and will soon be posted to their new schools.

The Commission plans to issue the teachers with posting letters mid March to May after terminating their internship contract.

Previously teachers would access the TPay system and create register to access the payslip.

However TSC stopped teacher own payslip registration after many cases of fraudulent activities were reported.

TSC issued caution to the newbie teachers planning to access the Tpay system for the first time.

The teachers were warned against intentionally providing false information when accessing or using the T-Pay system.

They were also warned not falsify, forge, or otherwise tamper with any information as appears on the system.

The Commission committed not to rent, sell or give away any information identifying the teacher individually (name, address, phone number, etc.) to a third party for marketing or mailing list purposes without their permission.

It will also not disclose the teachers pay information, except for purposes related to third party (loan, shares etc.) transaction, or with the teachers permission, or as required by law.

Any transaction on T-Pay is initiated by the teacher or user who sends the payslip to any third party that they wish to seek financial assistance, users are therefore discouraged from sharing their passwords with anyone as mechanisms provided within the system for data exchange are adequate and foolproof.

The unique number shall be a TSC or National ID or any other number provided by the Commission, User Name and Password are very important pieces of information and it is the teachers responsibility to keep them secure.

The teachers were asked to change their password immediately if suspicious somebody else have accessed it or visit the nearest TSC office and seek assistance or email the support team at tpaysupport@tsc.go.ke.
