The ministry of education led by CS Education professor George Magoha has invited education stakeholders for a consultative meeting tomorrow at the KICD (Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development) to debate on reopening of schools.
Among the invited stakeholders include teachers unions Knut led by its secretary Wilson Sossion, Kewota led by its CE Bentah Opande and Kuppet led by Akelo Misori.
This follows after the directive from the president to the ministry to put all things in place for schools to resume.
The meeting which kicks off tomorrow at 9:30 am will give way forward on whether schools will reopen. A day before professor George Magoha insisted that schools will not reopen until the virus has stabilized for at least two weeks. The CS also said that they will consider on whether to allow only for the candidates to resume learning first as they check on on Covid-19 trend.
A similar meeting was suspended on Sunday at Kabarak university after two staffers at the institution tested positive for Covid-19.
