The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) will start posting teachers who were recently recruited to schools starting Monday next week.
In the December advert for mass recruitment, TSC had invited teachers to apply for the 35,550 jobs in primary and secondary schools.
9,000 posts were on Permanent and Pensionable Terms of Service for Secondary School Teachers.
1,000 posts on Permanent and Pensionable terms of service for Primary School Teachers.
21,550 posts for Teacher Interns in Junior Secondary Schools and 4,000 posts for Teacher Interns in Primary Schools.
Though TSC had scheduled 23rd January 2023 as the date for reporting of the newly recruited teachers and teacher interns to schools, this was not possible as the recruitment process had not finalized.
However the Commission now wants to post the teachers which are much needed especially in junior secondary where learners are still reporting but to schools with no teachers.
From next week schools will also start to receive Form 1 students who will be joining their schools of choice.
The 21,550 junior secondary school teachers being recruited will be used for teaching the over 1.26 million Grade 7 learners.
TSC is currently also receiving applications from primary school teachers with Degree and Diploma in secondary option for deployment to junior secondary.
The Commission gave the link https://tsconline.tsc.go.ke/tsc-teacher/login for the qualifying PTE teachers to submit their details online for the deployment process.
However TSC said only teachers serving under permanent and pensionable terms in public primary schools who meet requisite qualifications should apply.
According to the Commission the application exercise will end on 6th February 2023 which will be Monday next week.
