TSC acknowledges errors, missing teachers in promotion list

The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) officials have acknowledged that there are errors in the just released list of promoted teachers.

TSC County and Regional Directors say such errors and misprints are normal in such exercises and those who missed their names in the list should not be too worried.

The Commission published a list of 724 pages on its website yesterday containing details of 36,505 who were successfully promoted following interviews done in December and January.

However many teachers have questioned the interview results released by the Commission with majority remaining skeptical.

Now teachers are advised to await the TSC promotion letters which will ultimately clear the errors witnessed in the list.

Successful teachers will get SMS from the TSC County and Sub -County offices inviting them to pick their promotion letters.

Both Knut and Kuppet want TSC for avoidance of doubt and transparency to publish the names of the promoted teachers with their counties and sub-counties.

The 36,505 successful teachers will be issued with promotional letters and will be required to submit five Chapter six documents.

Below are the five documents that are mandatory inline with Chapter six of the Kenyan Constitution on ‘Leadership and Integrity’.

The unsuccessful teachers will be issued with regret letters which will serve as evidence of their interview attendance.

TSC conducted interview in December and January after advertising the vacancies in September. At least one hundred and fifty thousand teachers were shortlisted.

The interviews for primary school teachers were done from 4th to 15th December 2023.

Secondary school teachers and Teacher Training College (TTC) tutors had their interviews running from 3rd to 16th January 2024.
