Teachers employed by Teachers Service Commission (TSC) are now lamenting over an issue concerning transfers which they want it addressed immediately.
According to a section of teachers, the process of online transfer application has been complicated by this one issue which they say needs more attention.
The teachers say it is impossible to withdraw a transfer request and make a new application when a teacher wants to.
One of the teachers, Peter Nzioka from Machakos, says he tried in vain to withdraw a previous transfer request which he had made and was unsuccessful.
Another teacher Willis Chindia, a primary school deputy headteacher in Vihiga, says he has tried to make a new application after he was successfully transferred to the current school but it failed.
Though the option to withdraw a transfer request is available on the online system, its not working on teachers end.
When a teacher clicks the option to withdraw a transfer, no changes are made. At this time a teacher cannot place a new transfer request.
The teachers are required to seek the services of the TSC ICT officers in the county who most times will not answer calls or reply to messages.
The system gives ICT officers a privilege for managing teachers transfer request including withdrawing an existing transfer request.
