Relief as Knec extends KCPE, KCSE registration period to March 7th

The Kenya National Examination Council (Knec) today announced a new date that headteachers and principals should adhere to for completion of KCPE and KCSE registration. Announcing the changes Knec acting chief executive Mercy Karogo said the decision was arrived at to allow more students in rural areas to register.

“We have increased the window for registration to allow those who missed to register after we received a number of requests,” said Ms Karogo.

By February 28 around 1,712,537 candidates had been registered, out of this 1,053,099 candidates had been registered for Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) examination and the remaining 659,438 had registered for Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education exams.

In 2017, a total of 1,003,556 candidates registered for KCPE while 615,773 registered for KCSE.
