Ministry releases new circular with early school closing dates

The Ministry of Education has released a fresh circular that has pushed term three school closing date nearer.

The circular dated 13th October 2023 addressed to County and Sub County Directors show that primary and secondary schools will close early for third term break.

Currently schools are to be closed on 27th October 2023 but the same date will be rehearsal day for KCPE and KPSEA candidates.

After considering this important event, the Ministry of Education has pushed the term three closing date two days earlier when schools reopen next year.

Nursery, primary and secondary schools will now officially close on 25th October 2024 to give room for national exam exercises.

There will be no KCPE examination next year but KPSEA and KILEA exams.

According to the circular first term will have 13 weeks, second term 14 weeks and third term 9 weeks.
