Mr Mathias Mramba a teacher in Kiruku primary school is under probe for defiling a sixteen year old girl in Diani in Lungalunga subcounty, Kwale county.
The teacher together with his colleague are accused of raping the girl who is said to have gone missing for the last two weeks.
“He togther with his other friend tricked me to his house in Ukunda. He then started forced me to have sex with him. I cried against this move but they would not listen. The forcefully undressed me and raped me. They did it inturn forcefully while holding me. They have been doing this for a period of two weeks” narrated the girl.
Her mother said the girl had been missing for the last two weeks which promted her to go to report at Diani police station.
“My daughter has been missing for two weeks. We searched for her everywhere to no avail. I tried to call the parents to her friends if they had seen her but still couldn’t find her. Then I decided to go to police station so that they can ask for her whereabouts on our behalf. But today she came back while crying and moaning in pain. I kept asking her what the problem was but she kept crying. I tried to calm her down that is when she revealed to me that its her teacher who had raped her in his house” said the mother.
“Its very painful if a teacher who is supposed to be custodian now turns out to be the hyena in sheep skin. May the law deal with him together with his friend. I need justice for my daughter” she said.
Kwale OCPD Mr Joseph Nthenge said there has been a rise in defilement cases in the county since the coming of corona pandemic. He said in Msambweni alone they have received thirty defilement cases with Ukunda recording a half of this.
“There has been a rise in defilement of minors in the county since March. The teacher is said to have defiled the girl in his house together with his friend. They raped her and we have started investigation into the matter before we take him to court” Said Joseph.
Mr Mathias who treaked the girl to his house and later raped her severally for a period of two weeks together with his friend are now in Diani police station and will stand trial tomorow in Kwale court.
