Kwale ECDE teachers start to get their posting letters


Kwale ECDE teachers who were interviewed and successfully got shortlisted have started to receive their posting letters after a long wait. This happened as the Kwale county education minister Mangale Chiforomodo spearheaded the dispatchment of 205 ECDE teachers and 23 polytechnic instructors.
The vacant posts were advertised since January and the applicants were supposed to apply through the County Public Service Board. Some of the key requirements included a Diploma in early childhood development or any other relevant discipline from a recognized institution or its recognized equivalent and a Certificate in computer applications.

Teachers Arena has learnt that some teachers were posted as early as this week on Monday and the process is still ongoing. “I applied and was taken and am hopeful I will get my posting letter this weeek” said Saumu Sengeza one of the successful applicants.

There were 150 posts which were advertised on January. The responsibilities facing the new teachers include; class teaching, organizing and facilitating play/learning activities to enable children cope with primary school life, caring and nurturing spiritual, moral, social, mental and physical growth of children. Managing ECDE centres and keeping professional records (schemes of work, lesson plans, daily programme of activities e.t.c) and ensuring children’s safety and security among others.
