KUSNET throws its weight behind Nancy Macharia’s reappointment, lashes out at LSK

The Kenya Union of Special Need Education Teachers (KUSNET) its officials Mr James Muigai and Mr James Torome have joined in to support the reappointment of Dr. Nancy Macharia as TSC boss for another five year term. The two spoke earlier today in response to the latest LSK activities which seek to block the TSC boss from securing another term.

They have vehemently defended Dr Macharias track record specifically praising her actions of withdrawing teachers from the insecure North Eastern region.

“We know what she has done for teachers. She defended teachers posted in North Eastern region who were under threat from the alshabaab. She has done her best and we don’t see why she shouldn’t be given another term. She has only served for one term what is wrong with her serving for another term”. Said James Torome who is also the secretary general.

The two also lashed out at LSK for meddling in non issues. They were responding to a letter by LSK through its chair Mr Nelson Havi to the Attorney General seeking to subject the post to a competitive process before appointing a new boss. “The information we have is that there are plans to renew her five-year contract for a further five years without subjecting the position to a competitive recruitment process,” reads the letter dated June 29 by LSK to the Attorney general. They asked the LSK to keep off TSC affairs.

This week President Uhuru Kenyatta confirmed Dr. Nancy Macharia to continue serving as TSC boss for another five year term.
