The Kenya National Examinations Council (Knec) has made changes to the date when the 2023 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exam results will be released to the public.
This comes shortly after the Form one placement exercise at Lenana school that was spearheaded by Education Cabinet Secretary (CS) Ezekiel Machogu.
The CS guided parents on how to check the secondary school their children were placed. He said the Form one pupils will report on 15th January 2024.
However many parents are still struggling to download the Form one calling letter from the KEMIS system because they are not available and the system keeps writing ‘Coming up soon’.
Because of the glitches witnessed during transmission of the KCPE results, the KCSE results will not be available through Short Messaging Service (SMS).
The 2023 KCSE results will available through the portal Kenya Education Management Information System (KEMIS) unveiled by CS Machogu.
Parents and candidates will have to visit the website, key in data which is the KCSE names and index number for them to get the results.
The marking of the 2023 KCSE exams started on 27th November 2023 and happened in several marking centres.

The extension in marking exercise by some days has made Knec to push the results release date to early next week.
CS Machogu also had confirmed, during Form one placement exercise, that the KCSE 2023 results will be released next week.
This means the KCSE candidates will know the results of their exams on Monday or Tuesday next week.
A total of 903,260 candidates sat this year’s KCSE exams. The exams started with the projects.
The projects were ran from January to July 2023. These were then followed by KCSE oral, practical and theory papers.
