The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) will be conducting training for tutors to prepare them to become assessors for Diploma In Primary Teacher Education (DPTE) and Diploma In Early Childhood Teacher Education (DECTE).
The training will be free and residential and it will take place from 14th to 20th August 2022. The venue for training will be communicated co the shortlisted applicants at a later date.
Tutors who are already trained as KNEC examiners must apply for the training as DPTE, DECTE and Practicum assessors.
The deadline for application is 31st July 2022. Online applications are therefore invited from interested and qualified tutors to train as assessors in the following DPTE and DECTE subject areas:
CRITERIA FOR QUALIFICATION TO TRAINING AS ASSESSOR
3.1Must be registered and/or employed by the Teachers’ Service Commission (TSC) and not on interdiction or any other form of disciplinary action.;
3.2 Must have a degree in Education or Postgraduate Diploma in Education with a minimum teaching experience of three (3) years and should be a practicing tutor in the relevant subject area and level of assessment;
3.1.6 Must be recommended by his/her Head of institution/Organization and should be 55 years of age and below.
4.0 APPLICATION PROCEDURE
4.1 Access the examiners portal using the link: https://examinersapp.knec.ac.ke
4. 2 Those with CP2 accounts username and password should log into the examiners’ portal using the same username and password;
4.3 Those who have forgotten their CP2 username and passwords should click on the reset password link, enter their mobile number in the format (2547••••••••) and submit to get their username and passwords for logging into the examiners’ system;
4.4 Those who do not have CP2 account should click on the Create account link then follow the instructions to acquire username and password to log into the examiners system;
4.5 Upon successful login, complete your personal profile and save. While logged into the system, click on the apply for training button on the dashboard to view available papers then choose accordingly to apply attach requirements and confirm submission.
