Knec advert: April training of tutors for marking DPTE, DECTE, DSTE, DTE

The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) will train College tutors for marking of Teacher Education assessments and assessment of practicum in the month of April 2026.

The training fee is Ten Thousand Five Hundred shillings (Ksh 10,500.00) and will ONLY be made by the shortlisted applicants who will be notified on how to make the payment through a text message (SMS) and via the application portal.

College tutors deployed from secondary schools and tutors handling special needs trainees (Braille and Hearing Impaired) are highly encouraged to apply.

The training will be a blend of online and residential training. Access to the online training material, dates and the venue for the residential training will be communicated to the shortlisted trainees at a later date.

KNEC will thereafter engage such examiners using the criteria for recruitment of examiners based on the personnel needs for each paper.

Tutors who are already trained as DSTE, DPTE or DECTE assessors and are in the KNEC database of examiners need not apply.

Applications are therefore invited from interested and qualified teachers as follows;

3.0 CRITERIA FOR TRAINING AS AN EXAMINER

3.1 General requirements for all applicants

3.1 Must be a practicing tutor/lecturer in the relevant subject areas iat the level of assessment in a Teacher Training College, University or TVET institution

3.2 Must be registered and/or employed by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC)

3.3 Must have a Diegree in Education and above

3.4 Must have a minimum Teacher Training experience of two (2) years

3.5 Must NOT be on interdiction or any other form of disciplinary action from TSC

3.6 Must be recommended by his/her head of institution

3.7 Must be below 55 years of age

4.0 APPLICATION PROCEDURE

Applicants are required to do the following;

4.1 Access the KNEC examiners portal using the linkhttps://examinersapp.knec.ac.ke

4.2 Those with CP2 accounts should log into the portal using their usernames and passwords

4.3 Those who would have forgotten their CP2 passwords should click on reset password button and enter their mobile number in the format (2547********) and submit to get new passwords for logging to the system

4.4 Those without CP2 accounts should click on create account and follow instructions to acquire login credentials to access the system

4.5 Upon successful log in, the applicants will then complete their personal profile and save.

On the dashboard click on apply for training and all the declared vacancies will be available for the applicants to choose and apply

The training slots are limited and only qualified tutors who have presented all the required documents will be shortlisted for the exercise.
