Plans are top notch for Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) to start their final secondary school exams.
According to the 2023 KCSE exam timetable tomorrow Thursday 19th October 2023 will be rehearsal day for the 903,260 KCSE candidates.
The exams will however start next week on Monday with French, German and Arabic oral questions as well as the Kenya Sign Language and Music practicals.
The KCSE exams will end on Friday 24th November with Physics practicals. On the other hand KCPE and KPSEA candidates will have their rehearsals on Friday 27th October 2023.
Most primary schools have already been issued with examination materials ahead of the three day national exams.
KCPE and KPSEA will start on 31st October and end on 1st November 2023.
Knec had said that plans are complete to administer national examinations to 2.3 million learners who will sit this year’s KCPE and KCSE examinations.
Around 1,415,315 candidates will sit for KCPE exam, while another 903,260 will take the KCSE test.
KNEC Chief Executive David Njengere also said preparations have been made for KPSEA for 1,282,574 Grade Six learners.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF KPSEA, KCPE AND KCSE INVIGILATORS AND SUPERVISORS DURING REHEARSAL DAY
1) Ensuring a secure room with a lockable cabinet or cupboard is allocated by the Centre Manager for storage of examination materials other than the question papers and answer scripts during the examination period;
2) Inspecting examination rooms to ascertain that they meet the specification prescribed by the Council and are free of stimulus materials and ensure that the desks or tables are arranged as per the Council’s specifications;
3) Briefing candidates on how to conduct themselves during the examination.
4) For Supervisors to brief and assign duties to the invigilators on what is expected of them during the examination period;
